For the Dior Fall 2025 show, Maria Grazia Chiuri has chosen Japan as the latest, marvelous port of call on her creative odyssey.
Embodying the alchemical encounter of heritage and reinvention along with the unique imagery and imagination attached to this singular destination, the looks conceived by the Creative Director are revealed in a series of graceful, poetic shots by Yuriko Takagi, a faithful collaborator of the House. An impassioned dialogue conveying a shared artistic quest: to capture beauty.
In a dreamlike atmosphere, where fantasy and reality appear to coexist, the evanescent Dior silhouettes are staged through an entrancing interplay of mirrors, perspectives and reflections, translating the different facets of femininity, between power, delicacy and sensitivity. The harmonious fusion of Japanese savoir-faire and French couture is unveiled through designs that revisit the traditional kimono jacket, with its ample and enveloping lines adorned by an enchanting garden sketched on silk.
This pattern is also featured on long tunic dresses hemmed with fringing that subtly accompanies the body in motion. Associating the effects of transparency and color gradients, some of the creations are enhanced with golden embroidery reminiscent of precious prints – a sublime combination of references and inspirations. The iconic Dior Book Totehas been reinterpreted and is in turn embellished with these mesmerizing motifs, expressions of the multiple splendors of Japanese culture.
A tribute to excellence and exceptional artisanship, through the prism of the eternal bonds that unite Dior and Japan, a captivating country and a source of endless fascination for the House since its very foundation.
