THE BRIGHT YOUNG

THE TRADITIONALLY CANVAS-MADE TAILORING OF “THE BRIGHT YOUNG” IS MADE OF ENGLISH CLOTH, CRAFTED FROM 1920S SUMMER CASHMERES AND WOOL, REWOVEN FOR CELINE.

TRIMMED JACKETS, CRICKET, AND BOATING BLAZERS, ARE ALSO MADE WITH SUMMER CASHMERE FLANNELS.
THE TROMPE L’ŒIL COUTURE PIECES ON A ROWING JACKET ARE ENTIRELY HAND-EMBROIDERED IN CELINE’S EMBROIDERY AND COUTURE ATELIERS.

THE HERALDIC CELINE PATCHES IN POLISHED SILVER CANNETILLES COILING ARE A REPRODUCTION OF EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUES. IN KEEPING WITH THE EARLY 20TH-CENTURY MILITARY UNIFORM TRADITION.

THE WHITE SUMMER CASHMERE FLANNELS NATURALLY REFER TO FRANCIS SCOTT FITZGERALD IN 1922 AT THE HOTEL EDEN ROC (ANTIBES, FRANCE), BUT ALSO TO THE “CRICKET WHITES”.

THE RICHELIEU SHOES, MONKS AND TAPERED DERBIES ARE ALSO ANCHORED IN A 1920S ENGLISH SPIRIT, REVIVED IN 2002 BY THE ENGLISH SCENE.

ENGLISH GARDEN

CELINE SUITS ARE WORN WITH WAISTCOATS IN DAMASK OR HAND-EMBROIDERED IN 1920S MOTIFS OF ENGLISH FIELD FLOWERS.

UNDER THE BLACK BARATHEA WOOL CELINE TAILCOATS, LINED WITH HAND-SEWN TRIMS, THE SILK FAILLE GILETS ARE HAND-EMBROIDERED IN CELINE’S ATELIERS WITH “ENGLISH GOTHIC” FLORAL MOTIFS COMPOSED OF SEQUINS, CRYSTALS AND HIGH-GLOSS BLACK, GOLD AND SILVER PEARLS.

HEDI SLIMANE DESIGNED ENGLISH BLACK BICYCLES IN NATURAL LEATHER FOR CELINE. THE WICKER BASKETS AND CANOES ARE ADORNED WITH NORFOLK CUT FLOWERS FOR THE FILM SET.

À REBOURS
