Showcasing the complexity of research, time and love that goes into its treatment of leather, Miu Miu introduces the “Making of Old” project, telling the story of layered techniques that go into the creation of ready-to-wear and accessories designed to showcase the beauty of the ageing process.
To begin with, the finest leather is sourced and its unique qualities are studied to ensure any natural beauty and signifiers of time passing are maintained. Leather is then sanded, washed and brushed by hand to achieve a patina and sense of history, hand-in-hand with innovation, that is at the core of the Miu Miu name.
Extending across all product categories, this intricate process is applied to loafers, Chelsea, lace-up and buckle boots, the Arcadie, Pocket and Wander bags, aviator and bomber jackets, micro shorts and more.
Miu Miu’s love of vintage clothing and attention to detail, results in special pieces that are designed to be lived with and cherished.
