A moment of optimism and the promise of wonderment to come.
The Miu Miu Holiday Campaign, photographed by Lengua, is introduced by actor Emma Corrin: referencing antiquarian festive portrait postcards, imagery is highlighted, frame by frame, and tinted.
The environment is reduced. Walls and floors are wrapped in pale silk. A rich canvas background emphasizes variation in light and shade. Furniture – a brocade sofa, an armchair, a grand piano, a single, heavy drape – punctuates an abstract and elegant space.
Time passes as the protagonists recite an abstract, seasonal list. As the posture shifts, so does the angle of the camera and, with that, the wardrobe, itself an expression of a character whose present is informed by the past. Conventional dress codes collide as long, lazy days are followed by the glittering nights the season represents.
The style is personal: warm, informal one moment, sparkling and dressed for dinners and parties the next. Soft moccasins and slippers, long leather gloves, glossed brogues. Plume sneakers and knee boots, accessories anticipate all possible occasions, Arcadie, Aventure, Penny and Wander bag, embellished for this season of celebration, with distinctively curated tricks.
The new 2024 Upcycled collection makes an appearance. Focusing on re-fashioned deadstock yarn, kilts and leather, each garment in this offering is one of a kind – unique – and created to encourage circular design practice, all while upholding Miu Miu’s love of vintage clothing.
