Swarovski’s traveling exhibition lands in the US this fall with an exciting new chapter: Masters of Light — Hollywood opens to the public from October 29- November 3, 2025, following a launch party on October 28. Under the vision and creative direction of Swarovski Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert and curated by British fashion journalist and critic Alexander Fury, the exhibition celebrates 130 Years of Joy and the Austrian House’s heritage of creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural influence.
Swarovski has always been a time traveler, embracing the glamour of the past while imagining the possibilities of the future. This instalment of Masters of Light brings the House's story to life in Hollywood, honoring its rich relationship with fashion, film, design, and the world of celebrity. Staged at the renowned Los Angeles landmark, Amoeba Music, the exhibition explores Swarovski’s deep and ongoing connection to pop culture and its instrumental role in crafting Hollywood magic.
Crystalized costumes from legendary movies and musical performances appear alongside groundbreaking fashion pieces, including the original gown worn by actor Marilyn Monroe when she sang Happy Birthday to then US president John F. Kennedy. An exceptional example of crystal in culture, its 2,500 Swarovski Crystals still shine brightly today.
Adding to the celebration, Engelbert reinforces links between Swarovski and the world of Oscar-winning animation through a showcase of Swarovski’s iconic crystal figurines, including Disney and Marvel characters, spotlighted as symbols of modern pop culture. Alexis Nasard, Swarovski CEO, commented: “We are delighted to bring the Masters of Light exhibition to Los Angeles as part of our 130 Years of Joy anniversary celebration. As the global epicenter of the music and film industry, this is the ideal setting to honor our intimate connection to Hollywood and our role in its most iconic moments. Swarovski continues to be a key protagonist in pop culture through the sparkle of our various activities and are proud to celebrate our legacy through this.”
Giovanna Engelbert, Swarovski Global Creative Director, commented: “Masters of Light celebrates Swarovski’s innovation and savoir-faire across all types of creative disciplines. It has been an extraordinary process from concept to realization. Since I joined as Global Creative Director in 2020, my goal has been to spotlight this link between Swarovski and pop culture, fashion, stage, and screen. It has been a dream working on this US premiere in the heart of Hollywood. There is no better location to showcase the stories and iconic pieces that have made us a staple of pop culture for 130 years and counting.”
Mapping a journey through time and space across the brand’s history since 1895, this landmark show, imagined by Engelbert, is the first exploration of the heritage and revolutionary spirit of one of the oldest European luxury houses. Highlights include the Pop Icons chamber, a dedicated space displaying crystal-embellished outfits worn by world-famous American performers, including Beyoncé, Madonna, Tina Turner, and Lady Gaga. These unforgettable looks represent Swarovski’s role in amplifying performance, stage presence, and emotional connection with the audience.
In Silver Screen Style, film and fashion go hand-in-hand, showcasing Swarovski as a key collaborator with Hollywood greats and preeminent fashion designers, working intimately with each to crystallize their dreams.
Another must-see is Mathemagical, devoted to Swarovski’s inimitable savoir-faire in crystal making and jewelry design. This space showcases the unique jewelry couture looks created by Giovanna Engelbert for the House’s presentation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Costume Institute Gala in New York.
The exhibition also features a special, limited-edition collaboration with Erewhon and pop-up with products exclusively available for the occasion. Tickets for Masters of Light – Hollywood cost $10 and proceeds will go to support the charity baby2baby to mark this milestone.
