BIRKENSTOCK and MAHARISHI highlight the relationship between nature and technology with a new collection engineered to perform in all environments.
Coming together with a common objective, the collaboration introduces Mogami Terra Tech, an ergonomic evolution of the archival BIRKENSTOCK silhouette that fuses MAHARISHI’s signature utilitarianism with traditional savoir-faire, highlighting the artistic aspects of military-grade construction.
Introduced in 2024 as part of BIRKENSTOCK’s Active Range, the Mogami is built to handle any terrain, combining the brand’s iconic design with outdoor-ready functionality. At its core is the anatomical footbed, enabling the wearer to walk as nature intended—a principle that has been central to BIRKENSTOCK for generations. Intended to heighten the experience of walking,
Mogami Terra Tech is crafted from top to bottom with adaptable features made for outdoor excursions. Biological and engineered materials combine in natural shades like camouflage fatigues, extracted from terrestrial environments saturated with brush, soil and clay.
Mogami Terra Tech’s two straps are composed of suede and nylon webbing, each with a high-function, quick-release buckle as a centrepiece. Below, its polyurethane sole is moulded with grip and protection, converting BIRKENSTOCK’s signature anatomical footbed into its waterproof iteration.
The collaboration unveils an all-new feature inspired by the M.A.L.I.C.E system, or Modified All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment. The system was first introduced by the U.S. Army in the 1960s and is utilised by MAHARISHI on its own range of functional accessories.
For the Mogami Terra Tech, a detachable crossbody strap and double carabiner allow the shoes to be carried while walking barefoot on soft ground. Split-toe tabi socks are also offered for added balance and cross-climate wear.
Grounded in real-life practicality, Mogami Terra Tech is available on its own or as a pack including all additional accessories.Also releasing alongside the Mogami Terra Tech is the co-branded BIRKENSTOCK MAHARISHI M.A.L.I.C.E. backpack in signature olive and black colourways.
It features 3D external pouches, hidden side pockets and an expandable design for up to 50% extra height extension. A quilted lining, suspended laptop pocket, and quick-release buckles ensure comfort and convenience.
The campaign, shot by London-born photographer Tyrone Lebon, highlights the versatility of the Mogami, designed to seamlessly transition between outdoor and urban environments. The visuals contrast the serene beauty of Costa Rican beaches with the dynamic energy of London, MAHARISHI’s base, showcasing the sandal’s adaptability in diverse settings.
The Collection will launch on May 30th, 2025, at maharishistore.com, 1774.com, and selected Birkenstock stores, as well as at MAHARISHI's London and New York locations.
