Giorgio Armani announces the official launch of ARMANI/Archivio, the digital platform for sharing the company's historical heritage.
The platform, developed on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of Giorgio Armani, will be celebrated tomorrow evening, Saturday 30 August, during the Venice International Film Festival, with an invitation-only dinner organized in favour of UNICEF, followed by a party for about 500 guests at Tesa 113 of the Arsenale.
ARMANI/Archivio, which collects thousands of original looks documented from the Giorgio Armani women's and men's collections - and which will have a physical location near Milan - will be accessiblen starting tomorrow, Saturday 30 August, on the website archivio.armani.com. All employees of the Armani Group will have full access to the platform, while the public will be able to explore an initial selection of 57 looks.
The project, unique in its kind, creates a space for cultural enhancement, a conceptual dictionary that tells fifty years of creativity, consistency, and evolution. With a focus on circularity and dialogue between past and present, the project also includes the selection and celebration of iconic garments from historical collections: some looks, carefully preserved and chosen for their timeless relevance, are re-proposed to the public so that they can continue to tell their story and meet new generations of enthusiasts.
Following Venice, the looks will be available in seven boutiques worldwide through a series of dedicated deliveries starting with those in Milan, Paris, London. After Europe, it will be the turn of the United States, in the boutiques of Los Angeles, on the occasion of the Academy Museum Gala on 18 October, and New York, and then in Asia, in Beijing and Tokyo. From 16 to 29 September, in tribute to the early days of Giorgio Armani’s career, the windows of La
Rinascente in Milan, where Armani first set foot in the fashion world, will feature ARMANI/Archivio- themed displays. As previously announced, the celebrations will culminate during Milan Fashion Week with the public opening, on 24 September, of an exhibition showcasing 150 Giorgio Armani looks, displayed among the artworks of the Pinacoteca di Brera.
The designer will then close the Fashion Week with a runway show in Palazzo Brera’s Courtyard of Honour, presenting the Giorgio Armani Women’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection along with selected men’s looks from the most recent collection shown in June.
On the occasion of the event on Saturday 30 August in Venice, Giorgio Armani is supporting UNICEF with a contribution aimed at backing the “Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund,” which ensures rapid and effective responses in the event of conflicts, natural disasters, and epidemics, with particular attention to the protection of children's rights.
