A strikingly diverse cast of individuals has been called in. The chargen uncooperative individuality. They represent a range of ages, genders, and body types. One thing they have in common — they’re guilty of serving serious anti-conformist attitude in Diesel FW25.
The Lineup is Diesel’s Fall Winter 2025 campaign, a new chapter in the ongoing visual collaboration between creative director Glenn Martens and art director Christopher Simmonds. Their signature wry humor and social commentary take form against the backdrop of a standardized mug shot wall that highlights the distinctive physical and stylistic traits setting each person apart. A visual narrative forms. What’s their story?
The 6’0” brunette with lipstick smeared around his mouth looks as if he’s been making out all night in soft tailoring, a sedate menswear plaid track jacket and pants. To his right and left are women in playful prints — one cat print, one duckling — that match their Play bags. From the expressions on their faces, it seems their moods are less playful than their prints.
Meanwhile, from the runway collection, the Denim Jacquard lineup appears to have been hauled in from a big night out. A girl in a shearling denim mini dress and coat is still having a really good time. As for the crew wearing Severe Tailoring, Tweed and Fluffy Knit, the hangover is setting in.
Accessories are admitted into evidence: a sparkly Grab-D bag with its own claw hair clip. A new D-Venus Tube boot in brown leather. The D-Tex boot with an aggressive lug sole. The D-Curve watch, Metamorph Links jewelry, Liquifie-D optical and sunglasses are key to identifying this motley crew of unapologetically stylish alleged perps.
We’ve built a solid case for failure to blend. Can we get a witness?
