Stella McCartney launches its Summer of Love 2025 capsule collection, a sensual edit of ready-to-wear and accessories exploring the escapism, hedonism and romanticism of a warm-weather holiday. The wardrobe is a study in sustainable craftsmanship, made with 100% conscious materials. Cruelty-free and vegan bags are handwoven from responsibly sourced raffia in Madagascar by ethically compensated female artisans.
Limited-edition Logo and Falabella basket bags are handcrafted by TANORA in a state-of-the-art atelier and fair-trade compensation scheme, offering additional support to the women’s families and communities. Each accessory is woven using local Madagascan raffia and Iraca straw from Colombia, harvested responsibly for a minimal impact on the palm plants and planet.
Traditional techniques are kept alive and brought into the now – modernised with a sustainable perspective and details in Stella McCartney’s vegan alternatives to animal leather. The raffia used is pruned at a minimum of 1.2 metres, ensuring harvesting is non-disruptive and preserving the health of the palm. The plants play a crucial role in soil conservation and erosion control along riverbanks or in wet areas.
These wetlands support diverse ecosystems and planting raffia palms contributes to biodiversity by providing stable, enriched habitats for vegetation and animal species. Bridging nature and summertime nostalgia, hand-painted cherries are on fluid dresses and separates, plus sleeveless baby tees. Red stripes bring a coastal cool to forest-friendly viscose satin vacation essentials. Crisp organic cotton poplin reimagines classic men’s shirting in feminine silhouettes, alongside light crochet knits.
